Who Am I?
Alena Beggs
Child Behavior Specialist/Parent Coach
I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Alena (Uh-LEE-Nuh) and I have been helping children become the BEST versions of themselves for 13 years.
I have a deep love and appreciation for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Previously, I worked in centers, homes, and schools providing ABA therapy to children on the autism spectrum. There’s no greater feeling than seeing the amazement, relief, and often tears on a parent’s face when their child, whom they thought would never be able to accomplish a milestone or be able to self-regulate or communicate their needs, achieves it for the first time. I have become obsessed with giving that gift to parents and helping kids change for the better. Everywhere I looked, I noticed that it wasn’t only parents of neurodivergent children who were struggling with behavior management. Neurotypical children also face big challenges with following instructions, waiting, tolerating denied access, communicating with words instead of retaliations, and so on. So, I was inspired to bring my knowledge and experience of ABA outside of behavior centers and make it accessible to any parent in need of positive change in their child.
NOTE: Helping children be the BEST versions of themselves sometimes means taking the more difficult path at first, instead of what is easiest in the moment. Every decision I make with kids (and myself) I first ask, “Is this choice going to help or hinder their future-self?” When I see life through this lens, it’s much easier to be at peace with the hard times, because I know it’s going to mean being better, stronger, more responsible in the future.
IMPORTANT: I will never implement, nor suggest any physical harm, neglect, nor restraint of your child. I rely on formulas and discipline to change behavior, not shaming, guilting, nor punishing. I believe in the importance of respecting a child’s dignity and autonomy.
